All teachers must hold & maintain a minimum of a CDA, which authorizes them to teach young children. Teachers are encouraged to continue their education through the various incentive programs Wunderkind Academy provides. Wunderkind Academy also provides training for staff on a monthly basis on various early education practices and other classroom-related items such as classroom management, lesson planning, curriculum ideas, First Aid/CPR, etc.

Opportunities for parent participation, as well as access to resources, complement the early education & care services. Wunderkind Academy offers family support through referrals, parent & community education, priority enrollment for children in child protective service or who are at risk of abuse or neglect, and ethnic & cultural recognition of the families we serve.

When they are in a predictable setting, children learn and grow as they can make decisions throughout the day and have the chance to predict what will happen. The curriculum at our center is based on reflective caregiving techniques that are age-, culturally-, and linguistically appropriate. During normal care hours, primary carers engage the children in playful interactions. Through constant, supportive encouragement, children are nursed, held, and encouraged. Every child is encouraged to explore the language-rich environment through games involving water and other senses, different types of art, reading books, and dramatic play. The purpose of hands-on activities is to encourage learning through play and get the kids ready for school.

All Wunderkind Academy employees meet the necessary education and experience requirements as required by the state and funding sources. Upon being hired, all applicants are required to pass all state-regulated requirements, which include physical examination, background check, etc.

Wunderkind Academy is licensed by the Department of Licenses and Inspections and the Department of Human Services.
